I bought this die grinder because is a professional tool, with enough power and of course because is a makita which has great tools, but his one was a true disappointment, in general is a good tool you can get the job done with it, but the main cause of hassle and therefore disappointment is the collet, it comes with a 1/4 inc collet, and the bits will always get stuck no matter what you try, giving such a hard time by applying other tools to get the bits out simply to exchange the previous one. I just dont like tools that need other tools to work properly. It gave me so much troubles, and not to forget that it delays the work.

It's a great die grinder plenty of power but a bit on the large size. It's hard to get in to tight corners. I am a cabinet maker and I use it for cutting off stray staples and nails. In this application it is definitely overkill

I'm using this tool for sculpting wood with "Kutzall" type burrs. I have been using a Foredom flex shaft tool for years but was looking for something with a little more guts and power for mass stock removal. The Makita did all this and more--in additon to its raw power I also find the rigidity of the tool helps make even fine cuts more controllable. Not shown in the illustration above is the multi-position removable side handle which adds greatly to the ease of controlling this workhorse. Over the years I have owned many Makita tools, and this die grinder, like all my other Makitas, is a superb tool and a great value.
